Welcome to
Home of Leisure
a place to slow down, breathe, and receive.
Leisure matters because you matter.
It can be difficult to make space to slow down and rest. Yet, as human persons, it is proportionate to our human dignity to rest.
If this is true, then how does one leisure?
According to a German philosopher, Josef Pieper, leisure is a disposition to be cultivated rather than an action or behavior to be accomplished.
Hence, our mission with Home of Leisure is to create a space of exterior leisure to cultivate an interior space of leisure.
You are invited on Sunday, December 7th, from 3 - 5 pm for an afternoon of leisure.
It will be a time of slowing down and exterior silence while being with others.
Practically, it will include turning off your phones and choosing activities that are life-giving to you, such as reading, art, walking, etc (you are welcome to bring your own life-giving/leisurely activities along).
There will be snacks, tea, and matcha lattes for purchase from Matcha With Liz.
Please reach out to Louisa or Lizzy with questions. We are more than happy to receive you!
